This Memorial Day weekend, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy every day and reminds us that freedom always comes at a cost. As we spend time with family and friends, may we never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice for others.
As a Veteran, I will spend this Memorial Day weekend reflecting on my own service, honoring those who never made it home, and remembering the sacrifices made by so many to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.
In the spirit of this weekend, it is also a good time to reflect on the sacrifices we are making today to create a better future tomorrow. Becoming debt-free requires discipline, focus, and sometimes saying “no” to short-term wants so that we can experience long-term freedom, peace, and opportunity.
As Memorial Day sales and advertising increase over the next several days, stay intentional and protect the progress you have worked so hard to build.
• Pause Before Purchasing – Ask yourself: “Does this move me closer to financial freedom or further away from it?”
• Avoid Emotional Spending – Sales are designed to create urgency and impulse decisions.
• Protect Your Momentum – Every wise decision strengthens your confidence and future.
• Stay Focused on What Matters Most – Freedom, peace, family, and the ability to live with less financial stress.
Now is a great time to go on the financial defense so that you can roll into June with momentum instead of regret. Small decisions over holiday weekends can either strengthen your progress or quietly pull you back into old habits.
Keep building momentum and protecting your progress.

An intrinsic desire to become debt-free begins with believing that your future can be different from your present. It is making the intentional decision to choose long-term peace, freedom, and opportunity over temporary satisfaction and impulse spending. The stronger your “why” becomes — whether it is your family, your future, your purpose, or your peace of mind — the stronger your determination will be to stay focused, disciplined, and committed to the journey ahead.
